Re: Anyone know how musical comedy and DJR are doing?
Hello all. Khall, thanks for thinking about me and asking. I retired from riding completely in January of this year. The reasons are various, but it was pretty much a no choice situation. Other than that, I'm still in good physical health and hibernating due to covid.

Actually, we did consider buying this property before the neighbor from hell bought it. When we went into the house, we just could not see any reasonable way to renovate it. It's an old house. Re: Trainers selling clients horse so they can ride them
When I was showing hunters, something my trainer said I've never forgotten. It was something like "horses have only so many jumps in them". What she meant was that it was not wise to over-school jumping or go in too many classes. Well, the same goes for dressage (imo). Each time you do hig...

I found this from USDF. The Aids: The aids for half pass are the same as for travers. The rider’s weight is to the direction of travel and the inside seat bone is advanced, with the inside leg at the girth and the outside leg behind the girth. The inside leg is extremely important – the half pass mu...

MC - What your described with the taller trainer vs petite rider schooling the horse is exactly what happened to me years ago with my PT/QH. Tall rider would swing his leg back and high for canter transitions - then I got on 5'2" and no way can I move my leg that far back and high. Besides I s...

A while back, I got corrected for my inside hand in trot half pass. Trainer wanted it like an opening rein. What I see is more of an indirect rein being used by the BNT's. I don't know for certain that I hold my breath, but whatever I do is likely not a good thing. The problem I find with training is that you can only work on so much in a ride. Most of the time if I had a horse who would go behind the leg and get stuck it was because they were crooked in their body and that caused a block somewhere along the line.
