Lunge line recommendations

I need a lunge line, nothing fancy. I don’t like donut ends, and obviously no chains. Any recommendations or am I overthinking? Is the standard length 35 feet? I like cotton web as opposed to polyester.

7:30 am Wednesday morning. It’s 24 BELOW ZERO and that doesn’t factor in the wind chill. Schools are closed, along with many businesses, and the public library. I got the second opinion today, and it jibes with what Anthony said. Pare out and Dremel the spot, and put on shoes to maintain the integrity of the hoof and to avoid any further cracking. She was just trimmed so I’ll wait a few weeks before shoeing. In the meantime, I’ll treat with DuraSole since I...

Seedy toe

Ariel has a spot of seedy toe on her left front, at the apex of the hoof. There is a vertical crack. Farrier (Anthony) was out yesterday and trimmed and pared the spot. He said it will be fine til spring; there's no point in going full tilt into it because of the mud. Needless to say I've been Googl...

Re: goals and how to achieve them and what even are they?

Adding to my first post. 14 is not too old in this day and age. If you compete for 4 years, the horse will be 18. At that point, the horse could go to a rider as a low level school master/mistress. If you like the mare and click with her, get her. You said having a previous school master was a thrill.

That's why I love my barn. It's big, and has all types of riders--trail, h/j, a few of us dabble in dressage, gaited horses. Heck, one boarder has 4 retirees. People are very friendly and encouraging despite their differences.

A missed Kodak moment

We have a new boarder who has ridden and trained through I1. Tonight he was long lining his Dutch mare. Into the arena comes a little girl, maybe 5 or 6, on her 20something year old teeny pony. Such a study in contrasts, and so cute! The little girl rode right past to the far end of the ring. Wish I...
