Re: Quality of Life ?

As Bob aged, I created a checklist. I mentally prepared for the time, rehearsing everything in my mind. I refused to allow his last day to be his worst. When the day came, I knew it was time. I went through with it and was relieved when it was over. Relieved for me, and him, that he would never be s...

The strawberry rant

I just returned from 2 weeks in Edinburgh Scotland where on any given day, you can find a local farmer's market and buy a big box of strawberries for about $2.50. There is a local organic produce stand near my house, and now you can reserve items for pick up. Huzzah I thought. On no, you have to cre...

And 3 more hours of work. I have officially moved into "ready to leave" mode. I want to sleep, and don't want to talk to anyone. I want to be left alone. I think it's the nervousness of leaving. Once I'm there I will be fine, although jet-lagged. Ursala Kitteh will be having a cat sitter. ...

Asleep in the crossties

Yesterday was our first 90 degree day. An out of town friend came to meet Ariel. Miss A. was enjoying her stall fan and did not want to come out. I finally got her into the crossties and she promptly started to doze. I wasn’t planning on riding fortunately. We fussed over her and put her back. It co...

Some people believe that eating and drinking indicate a decent quality of life. I don't. Ease of mobility is one of my key factors. The school horses go out during the day, come in for grain, and go back out around 8. It makes her happy and makes me happy. I really ...
