Re: In like a lion, out like a lamb - March and April Goals and Progress

That makes a lot of sense. I will share what my trainer drills into us, that the weaker leg has to be strengthened to be greater than not equal to the preferred hind. Why? Because the horse's natural tendency you have to use exercises as physical therapy so that even when they are having an off day,...

Re: In like a lion, out like a lamb - March and April Goals and Progress

SF it looks like in the video she prefers to pick up the right lead a couple of times and is consistently trying to swap that left hind into the diagonal pair out of the left lead. It's interesting that you said the next ride keeping her up on the outside rein helped as that was likely holding that ...

I don’t know how new they are but Merck is who is making them for equine use. They were brand new to the vet practice I use, chatted with the tech who does ordering and ended up that their Merck rep sent this one as a freebie. The chip itself isn’t that much more expensive but the scanner is differe...

For us the trot-canter or walk-canter shows whether the horse is truly in front of the leg or not. Confirming that they are spot on in front of the leg, the change then comes more easily. If behind at all that's when legs get muddled or left behind in the change. Just our experience, it's a good tes...
