He just had to grow into that big frame. He looks great and you two look like you're having a lot of fun together.

Re: Goals and progress, October and November

Wiglaf4.jpg I'm excited to say that my baby is officially a riding horse. He's been the easiest baby to start under saddle ever. No fuss what so ever. Every time I watch my trainer ride him I get more and more excited about his future. It's so satisfying to watch all the planning, time, effort (and...

Re: Goals and progress... August and September!

We had a pretty good August and made huge strides in staying softly connected and working over the back in our walk and trot. I'm most happy with how her trot has improved. She's a gypsy cross and wants to go more up and down with the front end. Lots of lateral work has helped a lot and there is def...

Re: Thanksgiving plans?

Hubby works all major holidays so I'll be home alone on Thanksgiving until evening. However, I will still have a wonderful meal waiting for him when he gets home.

Oh, Honeylips! I love your cremello. What a beautiful boy! I swear, it makes me want a herd of chestnut pony mares so I can breed lots of pretty palomino GRPs.

Re: Pretty Palominos--let's show our goldies :)

I love Palomino colored horses more than any other color combination. Here is my former Palomino, Penny. She was my dream horse come to life but she came to me with a lameness issue that I couldn't resolve. So, now she has the occasional foal and is mostly a pasture puff for a Georgian Grande breede...

Re: Goals Thread...

My goal for November is to put a canter on Maddie. She's a draft cross so her idea of a canter is to trot fast until she breaks into a canter which I know is a strength issue (besides never being taught the canter cue). So, for the past few months I've been working on building her strength and now s...

First, I don't put anything out there online anywhere that might be a possible problem later somewhere down the line. If I do post something on some sort of public social media site like forums or Facebook, then I assume that it is there for the whole world to see. Yes... "there to see".....

Re: Anyone read Chinese?

This translation from my daughter-in-law shows the beauty of the Song of Solomon: "This sentence is from the Chinese edition of Bible, the original sentence is this one "I liken you, my darling, to a mare harnessed to one of the chariots of Pharaoh" from Song of Solomon 1:9. Hope this...

Re: Keurig or Keurig-style coffee makers: Do you like them?

I have one and love it. The strength is perfect for my taste and I don't like my coffee boiling hot so no worries there either. I like that I can make a single cup or if hubby and I are both home, a 3 cup pot which is just right for us since hubby tends to drink a bit more coffee than me. We collect...

Re: Chickens

I have a 9 Red Sex links and 3 RIR hens and they are the sweetest chickens. The Red Sex links are quite possible the tamest chickens I've ever had. When we let them out of their coop for the day they surround us like a pack of little dogs. They follow my husband everywhere and if he stands still lon...

Re: Goals Thread...

I am quite please with how the last month has gone. Maddie's transitions are really improving and she's getting sharper off my leg. We've also been working on connection and the last couple of rides have been great. We are having more moments where she lifts her back, relaxes her under neck, and sta...

Re: Goals Thread...

October goals for me is to work on Maddie's transitions, up and down the gaits and moving off of my leg. She's a gypsy draft cross and about as chunky as she is tall so sometimes, her bulk gets in her own way. My trainer and I have been working on getting her to move her shoulders instead of just fa...

Re: Tell us about YOU.

I was Silverpoet on the other board and decided I'd just keep the name. I'm 52 and an avid horse lover since I could first say the word. I grew up in southern california and I bought myself my first pony when I was 13 using babysitting money. I use to gallop race horses , worked at a riding stable g...
