Re: FYI Cavalon bits great and cheap
It's funny. I found the one administrator of that group to be aggressively anti bit, and she slapped me with a warning for recommending a loose ring snaffle with a lozenge mouthpiece. I just left because most of the parts were picture of nasty harsh bits berating barrel racers. Zero interesting inf...

Quelah--oh boy, you are put where it's hot.
Mari--She says over and over it's just a picture, but is just teaching you to look. Some of the pictures I wouldn't have known why, but would never have thought those horses were trained in any way correctly.

Are you in the east bay, too, Quelah? I live in Hayward, horses in CV. Agree, Flight, it's basics. What gets me, is it used to be "out there" as a standard. Of course the back needs to be lifted and moving, muscled and the top of the neck. The problem is now we see some of the top horses i...

I love the No Bit-Shit group on facebook. I've learned so much. https://cavalontack.com/ is a favorite of them. Really good bits for horses and amazing prices if you don't know about them. I'm just bummed they don't have curbs and bradoons for doubles yet.

Mountaineer I think you just need to play, but a shorter shank doesn't act quicker or slower. That's a matter of contact and curb chain length. Maybe if you are a smaller person on a bigger horse the longer shank would be OK. I am not that. Everything I do has a magnified effect, so I try to use equ...

On the double discussion. I have been every which way on it, and at least monthly I think I finally have it right when I figure out something new. I agree with circles because it makes it less from "here to here" and more about doing it and forcing the inside to collect. Teach "passage/piaffe" in some kind of form, so coming back is more up like that. Think more forward passage. It really depends on the judge, and the trend...
