Re: My last one

My body is telling me probably the last. I do have a 5yo Shetland for harness so I won't be giving up horses just the riding. I don't know when that will be but if Jess lasts me into her teen I will be in my 70s. Don't think at that time I will be looking for a new riding horse.

Re: My last one

She is 14.1 and once we get our act together we will have so much fun I think. She is the most honest horse I have had just needs time which I have given her. Jess is a total sweetheart. She went to a teenager to take out and grannify for me but didn't educate her as such. That is my job.

My last one

After 14 years of trying to breed myself a German riding pony I at last have one to suit me. Jess is my last foal that I will breed. At 4 1/2 yo I am now able to ride her. At 64 she is also probably my last saddle horse. Meet Jess ( Shirrine Fin Parfiate) which means perfect ending. Every girl wants...

I am doing 2nd level with Lewyn. He started with a not so nice walk and it has developed into a very nice relaxed swinging walk but unless the stars are aligned he doesn't over track. I have received 8.5 and 6 for the same walk. One judge loving his swinging relaxed walk and the other saying no over...

I have put Lewyn back in his snaffle to see whether this has helped as he still needs to compete in snaffle. The difference is amazing. He is accepting contact so much better than ever before. Re: Lets talk Double bridles

Lewyn is welsh as well. I am lucky here that there are a lot of ponies in the show ring so getting pony stuff is fairly easy. My last couple of rides have been among the best rides I have had on him. He is so much softer and obliging. I always put his behaviour down to being a bit of a brat. Nothing...

Lets talk Double bridles

I have recently put Lewyn into a double bridle full time. He has worn it at shows but not a lot in work. I avoided the use because I wasn't happy with his contact or attitude. I can just say wow in the improvement in contact, swing, use of his back and attitude. He has become light and into a soft c...

We spent most of 2020 in lockdown and now almost Covid free so we are now able to get out and about. I feel sorry for you in the US. I can't see how you will come out of this with so many thinking your freedom is more important than live. Stay safe all.

Lewyn is a Welsh B Pony. I bought him at 8 months and have had him for 12 years. When I stopped Breeding I gelded him and he has been my rehab and sanity through cancer treatment. He is a brat but very loving. This year we have a new instructor who has got us going as a partnership.

Last Saturday ventured down to our State Dressage championships. With the quality of the ponies entered we didn't set the world on fire but I was so pleased with my little man. Hopefully that is the end of the renovations and life can go back to normal.
