It looks like that style is the solution to the problem. It's in an awkward space for that handle style and I find it hard to manipulate if one hand is holding something, etc., but may have to find a way to make it work. Thanks for your experience.

I sold the niedersuss today, the end of an era ( :cry: )..........I went down to the barn yesterday to see if I still had the girth (saddle was not advertised with girth) and found that the leather where 2 of the girth buckles are had delaminated over the years. What does "way too aggressive to shoot in the skull" mean? If the choice is to kill the horse in a nanosecond vs. an inadequate method, IMO, the choice is straightforward. Thank you for taking the time to do what is right by the horse.

They use something as simple as cotton balls in racehorses' ears........................you could desensitize her to them (or whatever you opt for) previously so she doesn't associate them specifically with heavy weather coming in.
