Re: I'M BAAaaAACK

Thanks for the recap Ivy.

Is your living situation ok? Your caregiver is reasonable (not really the right word)? Do you get to visit with your son?

Re: I'M BAAaaAACK

Welcome back! I recall reading your story on the UDBB, but don't remember the specifics. Would love to read a recap of your journey to where you are now.
Best wishes in finding a horse.

Re: Help me find my new horse?

Yep, idiot here. :-) I based my not dressage-y comment on the description in the ad. Then, I watched the video. The first seconds of the video I thought something was really wrong with the horse and it must be injured. Then when it started to jog I realized the first painful seconds was the walk. Th...

Re: Help me find my new horse?

A 12 yr old AQHA gelding with a temperament rating of 1. He's 16.2 and in Petrolia. Not really dressage-y though.

Oops, just did the currency conversion and he would be $11,000 CAN.

Oh gawd, oops again. I watched the video. Yikes. I'll keep looking.

Re: Greyhounds- tell me what you know

It is the norm now. When I got my first greyhound in the early 1990s, I went to a kennel at a race track in Colorado Springs. They opened a bunch of the crate doors and out popped a bunch of dogs. One male picked me and home we went. It was quite a learning curve for me and the dog. At that time, th...

Greyhounds! I've had many over the past 20 years. I'm active in a local rescue and have fostered and also do home visits. The adoption process generally consists of filling out an application, having someone come by for a home visit, and then having an adoption counselor talk with you to setup visit...

No, not the rides I watched. He was at another barn for some early rides both days, so don't know about those rides. He was dressed to ride. There was one horse I was hoping he'd get on though. Wonder if he talks when he rides? :-)

Re: Jeremy Steinberg telling it like it is...an interesting article

I audited his clinic here in CO this past weekend. He's here on a fairly regular basis and has a base of clients who really like him. This is the first I've seen him and I'm glad I audited before signing up to ride. As an auditor, no charge, I got to hear him talk and talk and talk to the crowd. As ...

I'm rather intimidated by transgender females. The ones I have seen in person are really beautiful.

So, I would be torn between being flattered or freaked that someone thought I used to be a man. And seriously, not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm just saying.

I will leave the radio on if the boys have to stay in due to bad weather. And it's on when they come in at dark until last check. So this time of year that would be 4:30ish to 8:30 ish. Other than that, it's not continually on. I keep it on NPR. The boys play along to 'Wait, Wait don't tell me' and ...

Re: Reconvening the Court of Grammatical Peeves

The use of the incorrect tense of a word drives me nuts.

Judy come over and we had a great time.

My SO and his mom use come instead of came and it drives me INSANE. I want to scream, 'It already happened, she CAME over.'

Ok, I'm better now.

My laptop is a company owned asset so I'm limited to only my iPad for personal use.

I'll keep searching.

Re: Rolex tickets go on sale Monday

Rolex was the best horse event I've attended. Loved it! And I'm not into jumping or eventing. We watched Dressage in the rain, x-country in the mud and jumping in the hot sun. We stayed in Georgetown at a neat B&B. The owner was really quirky and boy did we roll our eyes and think what the hell ...

Want to add photos, but 'file too large'?

I know this has been discussed, but I can't seem to find the answer.

I'd really like to add some horse photos but when I try to attach a jpeg file from my camera a roll (iPad) I get an error message of 'file too large'.

Suggestions? Thx!

Very cool horse. So glad he made it safely to the finish line and he can now retire. Interesting that Ashford Stud bought the breeding rights for him in 2014, before his Triple Crown win. From Wikipedia On May 20, 2015, The New York Times reported that Zayat had sold breeding rights to the colt to t...

I just checked out The Dressage Forum. Seems less active than DDBB, but familiar names. Did the 'old/previously known as' GVF start that forum? Seems she said she was going to start up something. I'd be really curious and lurk around to see what that's like. Oy vey.
