Re: Walking away from mounting block with one leg not in stirrup

Great advice above. I will add that, I always make sure my horse is standing square before I mount. Mush less temptation to move off if feet are in their corners where they belong.

When son was young, I had around 35 laying hens that he took care of and sold the eggs from. Made enough over the years, to buy his first car (used of course) and help fund college. The fact that you survived listening all the way through, Chisamba, means a ton to me because my brother is also not tolerant of botched music. maybe I'll be brave and send him the link as well!

Aleuronx, for your mom, if nausea is the problem, try Reliefband (http://reliefband.com). It is an FDA approved device that you wear on your wrist for the relief of nausea specifically. Sends a small electrical pulse to the median nerve which then affects the vagus nerve to calm the digestive tract....

French horn almost 2yrs in

It's been about 20/21 months since I first attempted to play the horn. On occasion, I play for my church or friends, solo or duets, but that's all so far. Apparently in more urban areas there are bands older, adult musicians can join, but not so in very rural Idaho so until I get good enough to join...

I have now been playing the horn for 14 months and still loving it. That's not to say that some days it isn't a major struggle to get something resembling musical notes out of it, but that's just me being impatient and wanting to move beyond beginner stage. Ponichiwa, Lad (the OTTB, 3rd lvl horse I used to have) did fc's every time coming back from medium to collected canter in the show ring. He would basically do a one-tempe.
