Re: Any new ideas to get a horse to drink?
In cold weather, when my oldster came into the stall for p.m. feeding, I'd fill his flatback water bucket(s) with very warm water. He'd take big long drinks. Especially if I held the bucket.... I always thought the shock of cold water on his teeth in cold weather made him reluctant to drink sometimes.

Re: Pen(wo)manship tune up?
My maternal grandmother had beautiful penmanship, and 91 year old mom still has very nice cursive handwriting (she makes her own greeting cards for family and friends). Sadly, that trait was not passed down to me. I've noticed that both the writing surface (slick vs matte) and moreover, the pen I us...

Thanks for sharing! Looks like the lame coyote is alive and well and roaming the territory. Loved the quail--wish we had some. I'm hearing turkeys on our place right now; any up there? All good points and perspectives above. I was lucky with my heart horse--he had excellent ground manners. Once in the saddle, I'd sometimes take a deep breath and sit there with loose reins, to reinforce a 'please don't anticipate' mindset at the mounting block. Maybe I'd like to sit here for a minu...

Well done! I love the sound of the French horn. As a (used-to-be) violin player, I so appreciate anyone who plays an instrument, especially taking on a brand new endeavor at a 'mature age' vs junior high/high school when I first learned how and was playing! Onward, and keep us posted!

Another question, for those who've sold horse trailers: What form of payment did you accept/request from buyers? Yes, Quelah, that's my trailer; I did see that ad, looks like from AL. I don't do FB but will look at getting some comps there. Got 3/4 of the trailer exterior washed today so plan to complete the cleanup this week and move forward with putting it on the market, hopefully by the upcoming weekend.

Try soaked hay pellets first, without any supplement, to see if they'd be palatable.
