I do too Boots. Geezus this is horrible! The rain... I've experienced 12" in 24 hours and 3' in five days - this is absolutely incredible. I haven't been to Houston in probably 20 years and keep remembering areas and interstates...it's incomprehensible. I'm so sorry for everyone.

Family legend: Right after their wedding ceremony in 1944, my mom's sister pulled Dad aside and warned him his house might not be cleaned very well...but the yard and gardens would always look great!

It all depends on the time and length of your growing season and how much rain you're getting. Grasses grow better, thicker, quicker in the spring, so you may get a week on each early on, then have to shorten the rotation until it's time to shift to hay. Watch your grasses and don't allow over-grazi...

Thanks. The aerial shot is a great addition and not so difficult to obtain with drones now. I had an old one taken by a photographer in a plane that I photographed with my phone and then posted.

OMG, I'm so sorry for both you and the horse. I agonize over being glad I wasn't home when my dressage mare died of torque (essentially a suffocation) and wishing I'd been there to do SOMETHING. So helpless and frustrating. And so sad. Hugs for your awful situation.

I saw the one in 1992 (?) It was total in our area. Don't expect it to be DARK. The sun spills so much light that the skies will darken, but not be dark. Hoping for clear skies for ya'll!

My Kenmore is both quiet, and has an option to just wash the top shelf. All kinds of washing options actually. Very low energy consumption.

If you do need one, I bought a new Kenmore three years ago. It's fabulous, has a great repair record, and you can probably pick them up pretty cheaply now. :|

Saddlebum, it's Easy Living Flooring in Ludington. The last flooring I've had installed though not carpet, came from Lowes and their installers were fabulous!

I went to a local floor place run by people I know and trust. Sorry. Look for "Industrial" or "Commercial" Application. The kind of stuff put in offices and banks. It's durable, low pile, and often not too expensive.

I like to wait a week, but it really does depend on how much rain we get. With my paddocks it takes a week to get around to the one I've sprayed anyway.

My experience has been that horses will never eat the toxic stuff as long as they have good things to eat. My sprayer is about a 50 gallon unit I bought from TS. Great insulation, HUGE maintenance issues though. If the logs are round, they collect dust. No matter what shape they are, they need to be sealed as regularly as wood sided houses need to be painted/stained.
