Mine is now 12. I nearly killed him last December hitting him with my car, but he's recovering nicely.

Thanks. She's in rehab right now. I left her a message to call as soon as she can or wants too - a mutual friend had notified me - no word yet. I don't know what I'd say to people if I had that diagnosis. This is awful.

Yep. I've broken mine at least once and bruised it at least two other times. Awful, slow recovery. In my experience, it's best to let it heal thoroughly rather than try to gut out the pain.
