Pet insurance

Does anybody here have pet insurance for their pets, specifically dogs? If so, who with, cost, type of coverage, etc. I have 2 friends who have Nationwide, brother has Trupanion, but there are a lot of what seems like up and coming companies. Any input much appreciated.

Re: Am I being too picky about Daughter's riding instructor?

Last week she used a pony she didn't know. It was very fresh and she had to lunge her at the beginning before we even attempted to groom her. My daughter brushed the pony and picked one hoof. That was the only contact she had with the pony. She couldn't lead her. She couldn't do any ground work. I ...

Re: Another Vehicle Thread

Have you seen this: https://www.kbb.com/best-cars/best-used-suvs-under-15000/ If you want heated seats, you need to look past base models, i.e., not just Honda CRV but Honda CRV-EX trim (next level up from base model). This seems to be case when I was researching. I think I would avoid Mitsubishi, n...

Re: Subaru Outback

SF, thank you. I am definitely taking color into consideration with the new car. I have a silver care now. Wanna know how may silver cars there are out there?! When I visit my brother in So. Cal, white seems to be color of choice down there. I am leaning towards the blue one. They have a gre...

Re: Subaru Outback

Thanks for your input. The reason why I am looking at the Outback is because towing is 2700 pounds versus Forester's 1500 pounds. Ground clearance is the same for both. The Outback is heavier and longer and wider, 2 inches shorter in height. This is based on 2021 models.

Subaru Outback

Anyone have one? Likes, dislikes. I am planning on this to be my retirement car and my last car purchase. Wondering about the transmission. Seems like a lot of newer vehicles have that CVT transmission. How different is it from a regular transmission? My current car is a 2001 Nissan Altima, low mile...

Daiya cheeses are pretty tasty. My brother is very lactose intolerant so I use their products when cooking stuff for him.

Re: Tell me about your colonoscopy

I had a colonoscopy last year. The prep is better now than it used to be. It is fasting and then two large cups of a concentrated salt solution separated by several hours. You have to drink equal quantities of water after each large cup but you don't have to do it that quickly. This is what i had. ...

Re: Job searching in your 60s - old dog needs new tricks

Thank you all for your suggestions. I have been looking and applying to the hospitals and clinics in my area. One was a great job, radiology in-house radiology transcription. After 3 weeks when I checked the status of my application, said job closed, not filled. I understand my age is a factor, I do...

Re: Job searching in your 60s - old dog needs new tricks

Lots of good advice. You might also want to seeking out a temporary or medical placement agency as a way to help you get in various doors. As you also may know, many physicians now hire a medical records person/transcriptionist to work with them while they see their patients (my rheumatologist does...

Job searching in your 60s - old dog needs new tricks

I need a new job. I am a medical transcriptionist who wants/needs to change jobs. This profession is circling the drain. Nowadays, applications are done online. It is very frustrating. I have applied to 3, heard nothing. Resume - yikes! I have looked at online samples, but I need to help. I am looki...

Re: PSA: Wills and probate

In California, probating a will is expensive. If one has any assets worth talking about, a trust is the way to go. I don't know if there are a lot of states out there where this is the case. Probate is an attorney's bread and butter, so many attorneys won't answer that question clearly. The questio...

Re: Bank statement does not jive with checkbook

In this day and age where identity theft is an issue, I keep track of my accounts. They always say people who hack accounts start off with tiny transactions just to see if anyone notices. I would at least check once a month. Trust banks - I would rethink that.

Another coffeemaker post

I need a new one. I do not want any of the pod ones, i.e., Keurig, etc. Not interested in a French press. Just looking for a decent drip machine. I have had a Krups (lasted 15 years, but that was years ago and they don't make 'em like that any more), a bottom of the line Mr. Coffee that lasted 7 yea...

SHAWS PAW WAX

Also, make sure toenails are kept short. If you can hear clicking on the floor, they are too long.

Android. Not interested in iPhone. Need one to work in a 4G network. Right now I have a Sony Xperia M but it is a 3G phone and does not work in the T-mobile network. Does not need a lot of bells and whistles but some would be nice. Also, which brands to avoid. TIA.
