I'm back in town Saturday, Maia has bodywork Sunday, then I'm gone again Thursday – Sunday, and Friday – Wednesday, and suddenly there's only a handful of days left in the month. Oh. Yeah. And we're on the move again, likely leaving Texas by this summer ;)

SmartPack didn’t have the Uvex in a size that would work for me, so I went with the tried and true CO MYPS. They are pricey, heavy, and lack real airflow, but no headache from a slightly wrong fit!

The innards do come out for washing.

I load Maia using a breakaway butt rope set up exactly like Chisamba details. It works fabulous with her. She needs loading — or anything — to be all her own idea.

I'm so glad to hear that Joplin's temp has dropped, khall. Is the vet doing a blood culture too?

We just passed the three year anniversary of Maia's first bout with mastitis ... and a 103.9°F fever that lingered for days. Not a fun time.

Can you soak her food? My oldster wouldn’t eat if we soaked her grain or timothy pellets, but give her a bucket of soaked oats or beet pulp, and she’d dig in.

And do tube electrolytes work with her? They’re more palatable for my garbage disposal mare than powdered.

I wish I knew! I used to have great penmanship, and now it's either terrible or barely possible, depending on how bad the arthritis is that day. I have found that doing some hand stretches and flexes from PT before I attempt writing helps.
