Re: What makes you happy?

I don't believe in the concept of something making me happy. I believe in being content. Of course, Miss A. is the primo thing that makes me content (well, she does make me happy). Just seeing her face washes away all bad things. My Ursala Kitteh sitting on my lap purring makes me smile. Chantal, I...

What makes you happy?

This picture (DH took it), my new horse, my trainer, my family... but I keep going back to this picture. My trainer and I last Saturday at the October Hunter Pace with my 4 yo and his babysitter, a coming 3 yo rescue. I've been in boot camp for the past month at her place riding all sorts of horses ...

Re: What I did yesterday

It was so much fun! I posted in the young horse forum about taking my 4yo to the hunter pace yesterday, that was a different kind of ride but also so much fun. He was amazing. I think I'm going again Wednesday, last day of cubbing season. What an absolute dream to be able to ride such a horse, Dagny...

Thanks exvet. We did wind up doing the hunter pace. He only had little swelling around the wound and had been sound on it since Tuesday. He was amazing and handled it like a champ. So relaxed trailering and around all the other horses and such. Relaxed at the start, up a bit after we started but wen...

What I did yesterday

Foxhunting anyone? I got to take the Irish mare Dagney foxhunting yesterday and apparently I've forgotten how much fun jumping and galloping through fields and trails with friends is. She is a steady eddy and raring to go. This was my second time ever foxhunting, first was 35 years ago. I cann...

Re: Training goals for my 4yo

He's already feeling better and swelling is way down so I hopped on today and did a little bit of flatwork as my trainer calls it. She's a timber rider just for perspective who has a dressage background. That feeling when you get on your own horse after a week off and fall in love with him all over ...

It makes complete sense. I've had lessons similar to this and wow, my instructor has me ride levels above where I ride. Consistency much? Then again, I was only riding 2 days a week (other people's horses...).

So cool, more pics and updates please!!

And the next goal is to get him sound. He got banged in the pasture and his front leg is blown up, like really blown up. Horses... Don't know if you'll be able to see this but here is a video of him jumping before I bought him. Going down the chute... Of course, I got hin to be a dressage horse but ...

Wish I could clone my guy for you. He does have a half-brother for sale, who is currently 17.2 and only 4 (my guy is 4 also). So too big... Both SWB out of Wild Dance. The one for sale is on the left. My guy is on the right.

Training goals for my 4yo

Well, after a bumpy (literally) start. We are back on track. At the trainers for this month riding my guy and a number of other horses, 2-3 horses about 4x a week. Her goal for me, to have fun. I am having sooooo much fun! 4yo wasn't getting enough turnout at the temporary place before I brought him...

Doesn't matter. I've owned a mare, 1 stallion and 2 geldings. Ridden tons of mares and love their sense of fairness. They call you on it every time. Some are more forgiving than others, but wow, they want a tactful rider. I love that, um, hate it at times. But it makes one a better rider. Stallions ...

Well, I was going to call her T but I didn’t tell everybody in time so she goes by Thyme. It suits her. She is not great xcty or jumping in general.
