It's "winter" here this morning as well. The snowfall is about to stop, but it's kinda pretty out with a layer of wet snow on everything. Our pupper saw her first snowfall this morning - this is her 2nd winter, but last year the only dusting we got happened overnight, and she only saw it a...

I just realized my old camera is not the Spec Ops Advantage, but the Spec Ops Extreme. It's a discontinued model, so the one I thought it was is probably the closest to the same camera available now.

Bobcats are such beautiful creatures, and it's not very often that one gets to see them, so it feels like a major privilege when it happens :) If anyone is on the fence about getting a trailcam - the thought of getting one was on my mind for years - but after spotting that bobkitteh in the yard I HA...

Yeah, that new camera seems to be even better than the "old" one, so far. That video would be absolutely perfect if the kitty wasn't just a tad too close for a tack sharp focus (it's slightly out-of-focus at this distance), and too low to be all in the frame in the beginning! So far, I lov...

Bobcat on my trailcam (video!)

I got a trailcam about a year ago after I spotted a bobcat in the yard one morning. I knew they were around, I had just never seen one, except for one crossing the road almost 2 miles from here, many many years ago. So, after testing several spots on the acreage, I finally caught the bobcat with the...

I think I have a total of three - one real blanket and two thin sheets. The blanket could fit probably all horses but Hank (the draft), the sheets are smaller and most likely just fit two of the five horses.

So basically, I have a few, but they get used next to never.

Do they have access to shelter in the pasture? If so, leave all out 24/7. Divide pastures if necessary, so the groups are smaller if they can't all eat outside without fighting. I have 5 out in the pasture 24/7 and that's where they get their feed and hay. No cleaning up stalls, unless we get really...
