Re: The Heat is ON: July/August Goals and Progress

Hi, everybody! This is going to seem like a bit of a fly by. I haven't read anybody's updates and haven't been on the site in over a month (but I'm about to try catching up on the last couple pages here once I submit my post) Rescue mare Razzy is a challenge. As the rescue warned me, she tends more ...

Re: April showers bring May flowers and June bugs. Our goals and progress thread

Wow, I'm reading your posts, I'm way behind and trying to catch up to at least get familiar with all your ponies' names... and I'm only registering a few of them. Ugh, sucks getting old, I can hardly remember my OWN name! So, I've been out of the riding 'thing" for several years and I'm trying ...

Re: Not super NH but NH book about communication?

When I was a kid I had no TV and my brothers and sister went to boarding school. I sat with the horses. I guess like most farm kids I had quite a lot of solo time while everyone else was working.Tough? I spent hours with the horses. I got mad at the mean gelding who kept picking on the smallest fil...

Re: Looking forward to looking forward - March/April Goals and Progress

I only had time to read back a handful of posts. @chisamba, I was reading your post about the spreader and tractor and as soon as you wrote "the right front wheel gives", I'm all tensed up at my desk saying "drop the loader! drop the loader!" because I ALWAYS forget to drop the l...

Re: Looking forward to looking forward - March/April Goals and Progress

Straightforward, I LOVE those boots! I have a lot of catching up to do on everyone! I've been non-riding for 6+ years and just getting back in the saddle. I saw a couple posts on the UDBB group on FB and poked my nose in over here to find that there's quite a bit more activity than last time I check...

Re: Accountability

Four days in and I've been religious about logging everything that goes in my mouth. The weight lifting... I'll add that to my goals for next week. If I try to force it this week, I'm setting myself up to fail - I'll give up on everything I'm managing to do so far. I'm one of those all-or-nothing ki...

Anybody have thoughts on the BLM mustang adoption program?

I love to (virtually) horse shop. I'm frequently checking out the BLM adoption site and I've seen some beautiful movers, usually from the Beattys Butte herd, but I've heard the Triple B horses would make nice sporthorses as well. It's kind of a pipe dream of mine to get a gentled mustang as a dressa...

Re: Accountability

Hi, gang! I need to climb back on this wagon, too. Every morning on my drive to work, I pump myself up to eat right, work out when I get home. Then, on my way home I'm exhausted and all I can think about is getting the horses in and collapsing with a glass of wine. Or four. SO has been cleaning my b...

Hey, there, folks!

I've been thinking about the old UDBB a lot lately and turns out lots of other ex-UDBBers have, too (or so it would seem based on the UDBB FB group). I haven't been over here in a long time (years, maybe?) but I've been poking through threads and I'm so excited to see so many names from the good old...

Re: High-neck turnout blankets/sheets?

Love them! I have a little 14.2 Arab and regular blankets used to rub his mane and shoulders. No rubs at all with the high neck ones. They seem to be so much less restrictive of his shoulder/leg movement. I have a turnout blanket from EOUS and sheet from Horze.
