I've done those that have been older without a problem. The vet can always close them if they want to so it's really just their personal comfort level. He's a beauty. Looks a lot like a Skipper W bred gelding I had years ago. He was a really nice mover. Good luck and I too hope the surgery goes well...

Thank you piedmontfields. I have to say that Heather did not disappoint. My riding instructor/coach did video tape some canter but the quality is pretty grainy and I'm having trouble getting it shared; so, I guess y'all will just have to believe me when I say that I got a lot of help and good advice...

Good luck and an official measurement would be a must in my book. Shouldn't have to worry on the welsh side for any 'other' issues especially if this is already a gelding but MC's point on substance is definitely valid. They are less likely to take up a ton of leg like some other lines.

Here are some shots taken last weekend on Junior's fourth trail ride/second weekend. He is very bold and loves to lead. He doesn't mind cars, bikes, dogs or ATVs.
