I have an older JES Elite and just love it. Mine has no thigh blocks but it is old! It is one of the ones with a Henig tree. It has been at Schleese for repair and I have been really lucky to borrow a saddle which amazingly fits us fairly well - but it has such a wide twist compared to my Schleese t...

Have you seen hockey or football jerseys framed in a box frame? You could put the saddle pads in one with the embroidery showing and artfully tack the browbands on maybe with some pictures of your loved horses. I have the same problem. There are saddlepads and brushes and browbands around my house t...

Rehabbing horse - help with walk exercises

Mods - please move this thread if it should be in a different forum - I wasn't sure where the best place for it was. :D My horse injured his suspensory ligament 7 months ago - the vets think it was actually reinjured although it had never been diagnosed previously. Horse hair itself won't spin - but could be carded with a spinnable fibre like wool. You would get quite a prickly yarn, I think! I think the best bet would be an art installation (sorry can't think of a better word), such as a tapestry or mosaic to include the horse hair in. Tail and long mane hair...

I find the same true of books written before 1900. You have to get used to the language before the characters and plots speak to you. It would depend on how much fleece you are sending. Because fleece is fairly light, probably not too bad. It could be sent USPS as a gift with little value. It would then not attract brokerage or duty.
