Re: Another New Project Horse

Best of luck w/ your rearranged life. Glad that you're still helping animals in so many ways and that you've taken in No Name/Gary who will in assorted ways help you. As I recall, your daughter is an excellent photographer. Hope you can persuade her to document your journey w/the new boy for this bo...

Re: The Little Red Barn Has TWO Occupants! 3-19-16 Update

What a enviable adventure you're having. Thanks for rescuing that spunky little pony. I hope he and Fergus become gelding-style best friends (which I understand involves a fair amount of friendly nipping...)

Exactly my view Heronponie. Carl sits at the top of my list for that game "With what famous person would you most want to have dinner?" It is so exciting that someone w/ his values is having such success on the international scene.

Re: Goat People...invalid food suggestions

You are a kind and conscientious goat owner. Would love to see the patient snoozing in your lap. Any chance you could post a picture?

Re: Goat People...invalid food suggestions

So funny to think of a goat w/ vapors -- definitely made my day.
Sending best wishes to Scrunchy. Sounds like her appetite is returning, hope she proves to be a good and compliant rehab patient.

Re: Talk to me of long lining/double longeing/ground driving

I just ordered long lines and a surcingle to work w/ my overweight 9-year old Fjord who is challenged developing a balanced, unrushed canter. A while ago he tripped and fell w/ me when I asked him to pick up his more difficult left lead. I came off since he did a full somersault. This really alarmed...

Re: Besides WB - what do you ride

I downsized from my first horse, a 16 h Perch/Appy cross, to an easy-keeper 14.1 Fjord who is on a perpetual diet. Absolutely love the sweet temperament -- and the drafty neck! But my trainer is worried that we might not be able to build a calm and rideable canter w/out breaking him down as he is ve...

Re: Tell us about you

I was Aireperchphil on UDBB, signaling my three passions -- my pack of rescue Airedales (three at present, but two are fragile old men!), my silly draft cross, and my career as a philosophy professor (I'm now 65 and have just started a phased in retirement; good timing as I don't much like the new l...
