Re: favorite dressage daily use tall boots?

Love my Petries. I have a cow version of the Anky Elegance, more durable than calf leather. They are custom w/ front zip because I have fat calves and a high instep but they were 'only' about $650. I wear them every day and polish them for shows. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever had. ...

I just did Balanced Rider UK's "10 Days to Better Riding" program and it's the best $65 I ever spent. You get 10 videos of a 5-7 minute posture correction that's related to riding issues- forward tipping, "wonky sitting", hunched shoulders... all addressed. Super simple and quick...

Re: StraightForward and Redsoxluvr- Petrie updates, please?

The Olympics aren't super stiff so that will help the break in period. My big splurge Konigs Grandgesters were $1,800 but the store measured poorly so they were too short and too wide in the lower calf so they never looked great and were too easy to break in. Plus 3 years in they have holes everywhe...

Re: StraightForward and Redsoxluvr- Petrie updates, please?

Mine took a few months to break in around the ankles. I used some Lederbalsam on both the inside and outside of the ankle to soften them a little. I would say the first month is the worst. After 3-4 months they broke in a little more, but they're still pretty stiff. Thanks for the info. My Konigs w...

Re: StraightForward and Redsoxluvr- Petrie updates, please?

Could you try the hockey skate thing (and what I do with stiff ballet flats or hiking boots) and put them on at home, and hit the really stiff parts with a hot hair dryer? Then keep wearing until the leather cools. Repeat as necessary. I like that idea. I do want them to be as stiff as possible but...

Bumping the thread up. I got my *cow* (not the standard calf) Petrie Anky's this past week from Dutch Riding Boots and rode in them for the first time today. Holy moly they are stiff. My Grandgester's weren't nearly as stiff. And with the slim ankle it's like there is no place to go. My horse did *n...

Blanket washing question / laundromat

Question for those who have washed a horse blanket at a laundromat that doesn't expressly say, "No Pet/Horse blankets": my local laundromat only has a sign that says not to wash rubber-backed bath rugs. Nothing about pet stuff. I would love to wash my lightweight t/o but I'm afraid the sti...
