Re: I've changed my mind about something important.

Wow, rockabilly, I am impressed. That must have been a difficult revelation to arrive at, given how long and hard you advocated for Billy. Thank you for sharing. Yes it was. Thank you all for understanding. What brought me to my final conclusion was Sue and Freeway. Sue is my hero not only for her ...

Re: What will happen to today's young men and women?

Oh my goodness - at my last job, our interns and younger employees had amazing intelligence and work ethic and made me look uninspired by contrast. I am not fond of categorizing a whole generation - either in praise or in condemnation. Although I am going to agree with the suggestion that the hiring...

Re: What will it take for gun lovers to say ENOUGH

I'm concerned not only by mass murderers/anomalies/mental illness, but by those "law-abiding" gun owners who kill and injure thousands of people every year because a) they see themselves as "good guys with guns," or b) they leave their loaded weapons unattended so that children ...

Every election cycle you think it can't get any more circuslike, but...it manages to somehow.

Re: What will it take for gun lovers to say ENOUGH

People who want to own guns pay for it, just like people who want to own cars pay for them and everything that goes along with owning them. Why would anyone think that someone else should pay for their car and the expenses that come with owning it, or for the expenses that (IMO) should come with ow...

Re: What will it take for gun lovers to say ENOUGH

Tabby, why is it that "do what Australia did" is the only solution? Can you even consider the thought that there may be other solutions out there that may be effective for a country that has "right to bear arms" in it's Constitution??? People often assert that the Constitution s...

Re: Reconvening the Court of Grammatical Peeves

"Feathers" on a horse.... No, feathers are on birds, and feather is on a horse. I've heard and used this for so long (singular or plural) that I thought it was just another piece of horse-y jargon and it doesn't bother me in the least. Chestnuts on horses' legs on the other hand....... ;)

Re: old horse and my farrier

This thread inspired me to sign up and post. So often on the 'net one reads about flakey farriers, and I love that several of us have farriers who go the extra mile for our elderly horses. My farrier trims my neurological mare up against a wall so that she can lean on it, and although it's a bit of ...
