Re: I pulled the plug

Best of luck Shirrine. This cancer business is a long haul. I hope the reconstruction goes much smoother than what you've experienced so far. Do you like your surgeon? I hope so. I told my surgeon before my mastectomy that I couldn't do anymore chemo. I suppose I might feel differently down the road...

Re: first chemo done

Day three is typically the worst. When I take a friend we make sure she gets a great meal right after since she's still up for it. You may find stronger flavored foods taste better then too: Chili and mint often block the taste you'll get in your mouth. The 4th treatment may be your worst. The stro...

Re: Breast Cancer Spin-Off, Who's had it?

Cookie - major jingles that you stay stable for many years - and that those years are wonderfully full of all good things! Chancellor- hopefully someday very soon you'll be where I am today. Just got the post-surgery pathology report back today and there's no more cancer. Chemo had effectively kille...

Re: Let's talk about horse bankies

I've tried lots of different brands and always seem to come back to Horsewear. The Rambo tail straps are plastic coated and clean up well, through I prefer leg straps for mares. I bought a Kensington sheet for my mare this year, mostly because I couldn't resist the magenta color, but also because it...

Re: Tell us about YOU.

Haven't posted here much, though there are certain topics that will always pull me back in! I had a variety of user names on UDBB but decided to go with HaltatG since that's who I am elsewhere in the interwebz. I took up riding as an adult and became one of the only people I know to buy the "ri...

Re: It is NOT triple negative breast cancer!

HaltatG, I'm so tired of waiting for test after test. Let's just get this treatment underway. I feel out of control and we all know dressage riders hate being out of control Trust me, I know how you feel. I feel like I had every test known to man. I also very much relate to feeling out of control. ...

Re: It is NOT triple negative breast cancer!

Terribly sorry to hear of your diagnosis. It was sort of ironic for me to come and log on today (long time UDBB user but haven't posted much here) and read this as I am recovering right now from a bilateral mastectomy. My cancer IS triple negative, and I had four months of brutal chemo before surger...

Re: Greyhounds- tell me what you know

Nothing gets me out of lurker mode quicker than the chance to talk about greyhounds! I am a convert - wish I had saved the thread I started over at UDBB because it really documented me moving from skeptic to full-on drinking the Kool-Aid. ;) Greyhounds are fantastic dogs. We have two retired racers,...
