My goal is for Jan-Feb is to regain my confidence in the saddle since my fall last September, I am geting there, but it takes time. We are also working on trail riding. Additionally, my goal will be to ride as often as I can during the winter months. We have a lot of rain forecasted in the near futu...

Re: 2019 Test Clinic with Hilda Gurney at LAEC

I had a good time, and it was inciteful. Many of the tests are still the same. Training 3 is different and includes a 3 loop serpentine. I asked how you would do that in a small arena, Hilda didn't know and said it was a flaw in the test writing. I was amazed that many of the upper level demonstrato...

Re: Need the most secure dressage saddle!

I agree that no saddle can keep you in with the big spooks. The good thing about Red, is that he doesn't spook often, and when he does spook, they aren't too big, and they don't last very long. Never say never though, right? I think bigger thigh blocks will help with the type of spooks I have experi...

Over the years I have had several mares and several geldings. I have had the best relationships with the mares. Mares take some time to bond, but once they do, they really make a commitment. I have had some real special magical moments with mares. I think they have ESP, they can read your mind. Two ...

What breed registry do they belong to? I always thought thew were a branch of KWPN like Gelderlander. I know a couple that drive and I asked the owners if they were KWPN, and they said no, they were Dutch Harness Horse. Is that a separate breed? They look like they could have a lot of Hackney blood.
