We had our first lesson today, with a new trainer. It was fantastic. This horse has a tendency to get "amped" at the trot. By the time the lesson was done he had bought into the instruction I was getting and was a forward yet relaxed ride. I'm amped!

Congratulations! I'm sure he will arrive just fine. The slow paperwork caused mine to miss two ship dates, but Ecclestone did send him by himself in a huge rig when the paperwork finally got done. It's hard to stay patient. I drank a lot of "Tension Tamer" tea! Getting off the trailer.jpg

I couldn't finish the latest season of Ray Donovan. It is relentlessly grim. Every character is broken and/or amoral. I couldn't take it. I've moved on to season four of Better Call Saul. It's not happy, but there are lighter moments and even some humor.

No, no ship date. Crikey, the funds for the horse haven't even left my bank account yet! I spoke with the banker today; it seems that this can take up to five business days, so the seller might not have the money until Wednesday.

I don't have anything to offer but sympathy and commiseration. Looking for a horse is discouraging, frustrating, and at times, defeating. Until you find the one. And if you keep at it, you will. I was about to give up, and I'm glad I hung in there.

The PPE on site went well; I've sent the report and X-rays to my vet to look at. I'm hoping to hear from her today. I'm cautiously optimistic. No, that's not exactly right. I'm cautiously over the moon!

Thanks, piedmontfields. The saddle fits him, is coming at a very reasonable price, and I don't have one that would fit him. So without it, I have no saddle for him. I think that for now, the Boo-tay will be all right. If we need to upgrade, we will!

I recently picked up season three of Victoria from the library. It's good, but I'm not finding it as compelling as the first two seasons. Maybe it's because I've been preoccupied with the horse search. (Ya think? :lol:)

Thank you all for your good wishes. My disappointing experience with the giant monster mare just about took away my desire to have a horse, but this one has made me feel differently. I had a nice talk with his (very sad) owner today, and she confirmed my feeling that he will be a great horse for me....
