Are these beginner novice fences? I love them! Everything here to practice on is two foot at least, if not taller!, this I could do!

Re: Looking for Chambon that has clips at headstall and bit ends?

No, alas the rings are solid on that as well, and being that it's an entire bridle setup I'd have to swap tack to ride without it.

I guess I'm going to have to put the chambon on my Meck bridle, lunge with the nose clip and then change tack. Ugh.

I've had one for probably 6 years? I love it! And it's easy to lunge in with the nose band ring!

Re: I need a new phone

I have the Samsung Galaxy s5, it's basically waterproof, which is great around kids and horse buckets, I've got it in an otterbox and even with three year old it's drop proof. It gets 4G almost everywhere, good sound speakers and decent battery life.

Looking for Chambon that has clips at headstall and bit ends?

I'm gathering lunging equipment I'll need in Nov and I'm having a really hard time finding a Chambon that has clips at the headstall (where the lines thread through) as well as at the bit ends. I also would prefer an end clip that can snap between the legs to my buckled girth for easy removal over a...

One did not wish to be left out by the other! XD sometimes I wonder if it's hormones, one pops and the other does too, though if you have more then two they usually seem unaffected! Could be total coincidence too! Either way congratulations on two healthy broods, and foals! And I'd bet that filly is...

Portobello mushrooms stuffed with wild rice, mozzarella ans asagio cheese, onions, diced red peppers, and baby portobellos (diced up cause we love mushrooms!)

And oven roasted asparagus.

It's a vegetarian night.

Re: What ELSE do you do for fun?

Reading sci-fi, fantasy, and urban fantasy (love it!) I dabble in writing, but can't finish a book, photography, one step quilting, sewing projects I've made stuffed animal horses and a pleated riding coat that I want to re-do as it came out too bulky to be practical. I love to cook, and eat, and ba...

Yes! He has legs for days! His barrel isn't too long for me if I've got my dressage saddle on, but in my jumper saddle with the shorter stirrups I look a little out of place on him! Speaking of identical horses, here's his full younger brother 2010 model at a dressage show. I got to go very briefly ...

Re: Social Media for Business promotion. Which do you use?

I use business cards a lot, tack them to cork boards at horse shows, and at local bridal and tack shops. I've got a website listed on it, phone and email. Don't know how much sharing my photos on fb really helps as a lot of the time people screen grab them and don't buy anything even with a watermar...

Beach Rides! How to not die...

So, I'm moving back to FL in Nov and really want to ride on the beach! (Consider it a bucket list item!)

But how do you make sure the waves won't freak your horse out? How do you make sure it's a good experience for both of you?

Suggestions?!

Re: Goals Thread...

I'd like in! No horse access yet as we won't move til Nov 12th, but my goals to make that happen would be packing the rest of the house in boxes, arrangements for the furniture were not taking to be donated to goodwill, and arrangement of pick up in Nov. I need to clean out the pantry, and fridge, a...

Re: Confirmation Critique Please?

I think he actually got his pasterns from his Oldenburg dam, his legs look very similar to hers from photos I have. I think his hip could be a tiny bit fuller, and his back a tad shorter to make collection easier. And I wish his cannons were a bit longer with a shorter humerus. But I can't complain ...

Re: babies change everything!

Having lived 8 hours and 4 states from my mum and dad for the last 6 years, and two kids, I think 4 hours would be doable. Obviously not as easy as living 20 minutes away, but you have to take care of yourself too. You could do a four hour drive for a four day weekend without it taking an entire day...

Re: Tell us about YOU.

Used to be Clare & Dancer on the original Board, joined early 2008 I believe? Might have been 2007. Anyways, I started riding at 6 with weekly lessons, mostly HJ and English pleasure, did some showing-I rode one dressage test at about 12 and hated it! I just knew i was going to forget the test, ...

Re: General photography related stuff thread

I've been shooting client portraits and my kids photos with a Canon D60, I have a 50mm 1.8 lens I got recently that I'm just loving the bokeh on, but most of my horse portraits are still done with my (I think its a) 100-350mm 4-5.6f telephoto. I havent been aggressive about advertising at all with t...

Re: Cross training: Trail riding?

I used to hack through the Jennings State Forest which is accessible from my parents farm, now that I'm moving back I will definitely be doing this again! I think it's great for building muscle, and fantastic to get them out of the ring so they don't sour. We used to ride 8-10 miles, mostly walk/tro...

Make sure you add, loading and unloading safely to your list, even if they do it well now, be certain to practice! Nothing worse then a horse that takes you an hour to load! Ugh.

Conformation Critique Please?

Some might remember my dream baby from an original UDBB thread back in 2008, this is the best conformation photo I have that's (sorta) recent. He'd been undersaddle 6 months in this photo, though its now close to two years old. I will get current photos in Nov when we move to Florida where he's been...

Checking in as well, used to be Clare & Dancer, thought a name change was necessary since the DancingPants is long since retired. I still have my dream horse Logan the spotted wonder, haven't ridden other then a handful of times in the last three years (hence the absence from udbb) I now have tw...
