I've ridden in the Christ Lammfelle dressage pad for longe line lessons, and I liked it a lot. Very comfortable, and a nice balance between full saddle and completely flat pad. My super-sensitive mare didn't seem to notice the difference between it and my regular saddle.

I recently sold my 2H Hawk, and only because I am moving to Canada and could not import my truck! I loved it - great features, excellent ventilation (important in NC!), and kept its value really well.

I lost a dear mare this year, too. The first few weeks were so hard, but then (as PaulaO said), the smiles start to come through the tears as memories other than the final days bubble to the surface. Hugs to you.

I love the costume on studly, exvet! What a good boy he is. Congrats on the change, Mountaineer! We had a fantastic lesson on Saturday. Lots of leg yield to canter to really get the shoulder before the transition. Next time, we are going to do a longe lesson with Autumn so that I can work on my cant...

Like Chisamba, I've been spending more time on the trail with the lovely weather and fall colors. Trying to be really conscious about straightness, even while 'just' trail riding. I'll try and get some NC fall photos tomorrow.

My two cob-sized mares took a cob-sized Miklem, which fit perfectly. The entry-level bridle does stretch a bit over time. Not sure about the higher-priced models.

I am so sorry, paws. This is almost exactly what I've been dealing with for the last several months. Occasional cough and occasional eye issues turned into full blown COPD over the winter, and bilateral uveitis this spring. It is exhausting.

If it fits you and fits her, go for it! I would have happily bought brown, but black was what I found used to fit both of us. I see mostly black here in NC but the occasional brown. I've never heard anyone make a negative comment about a brown saddle.

I am really short, and huge horses hold little appeal for me. I currently have a Morgan and a Welsh Cob x TB. Both just over 15hh and fit me perfectly. In the past, I've ridden Morgans, Appaloosas, TBs, and a single WB.

The air vests are meant to be used in combination with a standard body protector vest, not alone. Definitely worth going to a local tack store to try on vests, because there are a huge number of options, both between different brands and between sizes for any given vest. Not sure if you are planning...
