Re: "What's for dinner?"

I have a spatchcocked chicken, marinated in white wine, lemon juice and herbs, on the grill, and some little red skinned potatoes on the stove, and I'm about to put on some baby bok choi which I will do with garlic and fresh ginger. Debating what to do with some past their peak raspberries and blueb...

It's a whole different ballgame riding and handling an enormous horse, isn't it?

However, I've found that mine has apparently shrunk over the course of the past year. I'm now surprised when people comment on his size. :)

It was a good day here. The guys dug out and replaced my frost-free faucet out by the barn, which had sprung a dramatic leak way down at the bottom, created a swamp, and has probably contaminated the well, so I need to shock that tomorrow. I had requested one with a longer stanchion than the one I h...

A lovely ride this evening to round out the month. Looking at our progress over the last two months, I'm pretty happy. Trot lengthenings are vastly improved, counter canter is pretty solid, so those were my two main objectives for this period. Laddie's (and my) fitness has improved significantly. I ...

I tell ya.... I bought a new-to-me saddle a while ago, for my new-to-me at the time horse. As soon as I started to trot, that saddle just shrieked. It's a question of for whom they are doing the best they can, really. Society as a whole, or just for themselves? I agree with Rhianon that a whole lot of the latter goes on.

Truly, it's never appropriate to comment on what someone is having for lunch, except to say "that smalls delicious!" or the like. (And you have to be careful with that in our place or the Mexican guys will insist on sharing it with you, which I feel deprives them of their much needed lunch!)

I guess there's no chance of getting it re-treed? A lot of the nicer saddles like Customs and Trilogies will allow you to do that for a reasonable sum of money (I know the Trilogy is about $1K.)
