Yep, Shar Pei, years ago a workmate bred them (and neapolitan mastifs and french bulldogs and rex cats).

Hellebores are great and come in lovely colors. I have an almost black purple and a bright yellow and they have crossed for a dusty purple as they spread. If you want color I would also look at corydalis and hardy fuschias.

Very handsome boy. I would recommend body work too. At least an assessment, that kind of stiffness one side usually comes for further back and opposite side so I would suspect some discomfort on the left side somewhere.

When you select stain you need to pick transparent, semi-transparent or solid body. Its a matter of how much pigment there is and how much of the natural wood shows through. I have wood floors and prefer it to when I used to have my horses on mats. I planned to mat the stalls here when I moved in but after living with the wood for a while I decided I liked it better. The wood is on pt. 4x4 sleepers at about 24" o.c. with gravel between both over the native clay.
