Re: Micklem Bridle
FYI - I've been interested in trying one of these but now it's sounding like they may no longer be legal according to the USEF proposed rule. "Bridles are not permitted in which the noseband is connected to the bit or cheekpiece below the level of the browband." Maybe they think that the ...

Re: Should we do a 30 day challenge/makeover?
I could possible be enticed. I just started a diet Oct. 1 and lost 17 lbs so far. I already do a personal trainer 2x a week and spin class several times a week. I work as a barefoot trimmer so that's a workout in itself. I also ride two horses. Where do I start? Start as in the new thread, or start...

Re: Should we do a 30 day challenge/makeover?
So on Halloween we announce our three goals on a new thread and check in daily to score ourselves? It is my opinion, which may be unpopular, that no photos be allowed, or over boasting about how well you did or how much weight you lost, you score a zero, one two or three and realize if you score a ...

Re: Desperately seeking this kind of saddle:
The one in CA turned out to be almost perfect and I'm still debating it, but a wrench was thrown into my excitement. Passier has it listed as a 17". It measures the typical Passier generous of 17.25. :( Which sounds bad because it's said that most Passier GG's measure a 1/4" large, BUT, I ...

I have a set of Bobby's reins that I had been using for a couple of years and I love them, so I was not hesitant to pick up a used Bobby's bridle on Ebay last year as well. Not sure how old it is, but it's just the kind of leather I like and it's in great shape. I love the bridle. I like leather tha...

Re: Do any of you make your own pizza dough?
I have probably made a few ten thousand or so balls of pizza dough. I was a baker that supplied the dough for a pizzeria. Anyway, as I used a 70 quart mixer I don't think anyone wants that particular recipe, and I'd be shot if I gave it out anyway. ;) Basically it was a high quality high gluten doug...

I am planning to start a whole30 on November 8th (birthday is the 6th and I have a half marathon on the 7th). No sugar, no grain, no booze, no dairy. Should be fun. I love the Whole30! Have you done it before? I have a trail race on the 7th and plan on over indulging that day, but this will be good...

Going to bed on time and getting enough sleep is HUGE for me! I need a babysitter.

Should we do a 30 day challenge/makeover?
I suggest this: For the month of November we each pick three things we'd like to improve in our lives and try to do them every day. Examples: go to bed on time, no sugar, exercise, meditate, whatever. You get a point for each one you accomplish each day. Total possible: 90 points. In the event you f...

Another place to look for used tack are the various Facebook groups. English Tack Trader is one, there's also one for Horseware products only. I see more listed on those nowadays than on Ebay. It's a bit of a leap of faith to purchase that way, but I think PayPal offers a bit of protection. I've bou...

What I do is set my Ebay account to alert me if anything comes up under a particular search. Easiest to do on the eBay app I have on my phone. For apples I'd recommend a Wealthy, with the warning that they ripen a bit late and taste starchy until they do, but once thy ripen they beat a Mac or Cortland or Empire. Very cold hardy.

Ideally a 17.5 Passier GG with shallow seat, upswept panels, wide tree and wide channel throughout the saddle. I have a wide barreled forward girth groove horse that goes best in a point billet that's off the rear of the block. (An old Passier GG) Billets farther rearward- you can girth him up and pretty much watch the saddle slide forward no matter what the tree size.

Career wise, yes. Otherwise, no. I think I'd need a major psychological overhaul to change. I'm not entirely sure if I'd like to. I'd like to read the study because I'm not sure what their version of an interval really is. Are we talking a HIIT interval or Gallowwalking? I realize that LSD has taken a bit of a hit lately, but IMO it still has value in a long distance runner's program. https://experiencelife.com/article/stea .....
