Installing wood laminate flooring

I'm going to (attempt) to install wood laminate flooring in my house. I've never done it before. I consider myself somewhat "handy." Am I crazy? Will I be able to do this? I have heard of other amateurs doing it, so......

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I second myleetlepony's suggestion for Tempel Farm. You could Google "Chicago Auto Shows" to see if there are any in June. Are you staying in Chicago? Lots of good food there!

Re: Flax Substitute & Vit E Question

My gelding has seasonal allergies (yes, my horse has hay fever!) and I feed it about 9 months out of the year. I buy a big bag and store it in a rubbermaid container, and he eats it just fine and it does a great job. I can notice a difference in about 3 - 4 days. You could go to a health food store ...

I feed just regular flax seed to my gelding. Is that something you are able to try, or can they not have it for some reason?

Re: Complicated, property deed

Did your mom have an attorney prepare her Will? He or she would have a copy. Laws differ by state but I find it hard to believe there is any cost difference if one name is on a deed or a dozen names are on a deed. I also doubt recording a deed cost $500. That may be attorney's fees but the actual re...

Also look into a revocable trust. If you possess at least $20,000 worth of assets or more, a trust is the thing to have. Be sure and look at the differences between revocable trusts and irrevocable trusts. IIRC, if you end up in a nursing home, a revocable trust counts as an asset, whereas an irrev...

I like Dysons. I bought a refurbished Animal about 12 years ago and still keep it around for dirtier jobs. I bought another refurb about five years ago for like $200, and it is going strong. The more basic Dysons aren't really that expensive, they just keep adding more bells and whistles to justify...

My vacuum died. I'm pretty sure it choked on pet hair. As I know most of the peeps on this board probably have an abundance of pet hair in their homes, along with shavings, dirt, sand, etc., I'm curious what your recommendations for vacuums are. Are the Dysons really worth the money? Thoughts and su...

Trailer safety chains question

My DH and I are having a disagreement. I believe the safety chains on a horse trailer should be crossed. He believes they should be straight. My thought is that, God forbid they come in to use, the trailer will pull straighter with them crossed. How do you hook yours, and why?
