Just remember that most Spanish horses and Lusitano horses are very much more sensitive and responsive than your average Warmbloods to handle and ride and you'll be ok. ;)

Update from breaker is that he is being ridden over tarps in walk and trot and getting used to flags and lots of other objects - we had already done a lot of this inhand so getting it nice and calmly under saddle is great for his future work. He will be doing Working Equitation and some of our joust...

We hear there are lots of US citizens thinking of emigrating to Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

We have a nice climate, lots of horses and open spaces and life is pretty good here. :lol:

I've started watching Westworld, not sure about it yet but there are horses in it and its quirky. :lol:

Wish we had Outlander and some of the other more interesting series here but no luck so far and we don't have netflix.

I'm looking forward to Game of Thrones next series too.

They are vary rare being mainly white, most Arapawa sheep are black or brown coloured, with or without spots.

Now up to 19 lambs! 7 are ewes and the rest are rams. More to come... :lol:

They have great personalities and are fun to train and have around.

And we're lambing!

It's spring here in NZ and our Arapawa ewes have just started lambing. :D So far we've got 3 sets of twins from Pinky, Honey and Brulee and a couple of singles from Custard and an unnamed daughter of Horatio in a lovely range of colour combinations. Lots of spots are coming through in Bambam's lambs...

Depending on how you define "vacation" you could also go the short-term working student route somewhere. I did that last year and it worked well. Just be upfront and clear about expectations and such! This year, on my travels back to the US, I'm going on a couple-day horse trek in New Zea...

Regarding the difference between PRE and Lusitanos, both are normally very sensitive horses to ride, but the PRE are generally much more accommodating and calmer to work with than the Lusitanos which can get rather cross if aids are not to their liking. So the Lusitanos are generally sharper and hot...
