Is your left connection stronger than your right? I get this too with one of mine, and when I was trying to figure out why I realised that I have a stronger hold with my left rein and he is stiffer that side.

Norsey had shoes on for, well 5 minutes... and yep the farrier said just rasp off the little cracks that start happening as the nail holes grow down.

It may not be relevant to your horse, but I've found with mine that when the work is getting harder for them in the arena, they may do spooks or go looking for something outside. I've taken a bit of a different approach to spooking and 'resistances' lately. Your might be a getting a little horse shy...

We tend to only have ramps, rather than a big door like that at the back. I'd be more comfortable having bum bars too. Tips from me is untie first before opening the back and dont stand directly behind when opening the rear door.

I did a lot of groundwork and early riding with Norsey following Warwick Schiller's method. Norsey was big and scary. I have no idea about paso finos but I would work a lot to get relaxation before working or even riding first. So they can just stand and relax. Walk and halt and relax etc.

I was going to add the same thing. He knows the aid for changes now, you've taught that well. Then next bit is getting him to carry more behind, strengthen up and get off your hands. So more lateral work and all the stuff that does that, and then your changes will become effortless

I'm not sure the breeding is helping keep the soundness? Horses seem to have that hypermobility going on nowadays. Just feel for the last rib, follow it up towards the spine and the saddle shouldn't go past that rib. Looks like it could go forward an inch or so but you have to feel for the back of the scapula too.

Crap Sue B! That would have been scary!! Glad you stayed on and made it through it. What was wrong with your legs?? Too cold? I can't imagine riding in snow, especially when it's middle of summer and I'm riding in the early mornings before it's too hot.

Pop her into shoulder in or travers if she gets too low and see what happens. It tends to get them to raise in front without the tussle
