Bascar, Let me tell you one of many stories from my friend's online dating experiences. She talked to one guy via email for awhile. They seemed to have a lot in common and they agreed to meet at a local mall. He got into her car and proceeded to pull out two bras FROM HIS PANTS that he said he got ...

Re: Meat carving etiquette

I understand what Flying Lily is saying, and I completely agree with Silk. My sister is an amazing cook, but she serves the tiniest portions. I always eat something when I get home from having dinner at her house. (And she's significantly overweight, by the way, so something's happening when I'm not...

Re: Three out of ten.......

Why is it so hard to figure out to leave a message sometime when the office is closed? That would leave only the 24 hour a day jobs that would get screwed, but I'd be left with a touch more faith in the intelligence level of our society.

Re: Radio in the Barn

I had a radio in my barn. Most of the time, the horses were out while I was cleaning stalls, so there were no barn sounds. I listened to NPR. One time, I did call in to a talk show, and when I heard the show on it's repeat airing later that night, I heard one of my horses whinnying out in the field!

Re: Feed Room Sinks...yay or nay? Thoughts and feedback please?

I used to keep my horse in a 4 horse barn that had a tack room that was slightly heated, just enough to keep the water pipes from freezing. And it had a toilet! It was awesome. I had access to the house, but it was really nice to not have to worry about taking off your dirty shoes just to use the ba...

Maybe it's the same as each generation thinking the next generation's music is horrible, but I don't think so. Look around. Look at the results. We, as a society, are lowering our standards. Or having them lowered for us. Of course there are bright, motivated, energetic young people out there. But I...

My feelings about the refugees are also complicated. I would like to see the discussion - nationally, not here - based on facts. In the past 2 years, 22,000 Syrian refugees were referred to the US for immigration. It takes two years to process them. 7,000 made it past the initial screening, and 2,00...
