Re: Quarter Sheets - Your Favorites

I don't use a quarter sheet - maybe I should.....we do ride in an indoor - but, it's cold in there. My mare doesn't''t seem to mind the cold but so far we are in the low 30's so she may start to protest once it gets in the 20's.

I like the Oglivy, thinline and thinline attached to back on track pads. I think they all help stabilize the saddle.

I had an opportunity to ride and care for 2 friends horses, I did it for a few months but I really wanted "my own". I had my retiree but I wanted a horse to ride.

Fingers crossed this one works out for you!

I only found out about Kroops when I did some googling on COTH -people seemed to rave about them and also the Dehners.

My newish Ariats have padding in the back and I don't like it - it's too thick. My old Ariat Crowne Paddocks were the bomb! Sadly, they don't make that style anymore.

Not heard of it - my vet recommended Equithrive. My horse doesn't have hock issues but I'm hoping to do some preventive maintenance with it. The vet said even though the studies were only done on hocks - it isn't only good for hocks.

Kroops custom boot makers have retired the business. I just got a stock pair off of Ebay and I absolutely LOVE these paddock boots. Super quality boot that I can see lasting 10 + years. Beorn - Excellent point - maybe that's why my mare seems to like this girth....though, she's not outwardly girthy. Maybe she just likes the difference in pressure from the Wintec. I'm still going to have to get some of it cut off - I'll just take as little as possible to get it a bit below her pad.

When you do get it all cleaned up - if you can get it in the sun to dry that would help kill any mold that may be down deep in the leather.

Well it isn't bunching up my pad and it doesn't interfere with my saddle or leg so I guess I'll just leave it on the high side.
