Well well well... Amber must like being fussed over. I missed yesterday's "fun", but it involved cleaning and debriding the wound then stitching on a piece of placenta to act as an interim skin. There is a piece of gamgee stitched to her shoulder over the open wound, which needs to be wet ...

A little bit trial and error. I'm horse shopping. Vets charge consult fees to put horses down ($105, plus travel, plus drugs). Who knew - not I. I queried it as I wasn't sure it was correct. When the office manager rang back to tell me it was, she was quite indignant about the charge, as the normal charge is higher again ($150!) and the vet did me ...

Yes, the unique combination of size, width, twist, rise etc will impact you and your individual body. I've seen a friend ride in several different saddles, all professionally fitted to the horse. Boots can be used for jumping, however, you're more likely to find they get flung off at higher speeds or with more momentum. One option might be to use boots for the majority of her work and remove them for jumping sessions. As SF says, the "best" boots are useless if they aren't the corr...

Fences in our neck of the woods tend to be 1m-1m10, so about 3'4" to 3'10". That seems to do for most equines. 4' and higher fences are commonly used at stud farms or agistment facilities. It is nearly unheard of to see a 5' fence, unless it is a hedge on a farm. If fences are post and wir...
