i had 2 cats. when 1 died, the remaining cat became (i thought) very clingy & needy. so i got him a kitten, he was horrified! appalled!
he wasn't telling me he was lonely, he was telling me how happy he was to be the only cat :lol:
it took him quite a while to adjust to having a buddy....

i had no water in my house this am --the barn is attatched to the house, so no water there either. the plumber came ON SUNDAY AM BLESS HIS HEART. it was -2F in the barn this morning-- and supposed to be about 50 degrees day after tomorrow

i'm feeling kinda punchdrunk......

waxing the bottom of kitty litter boxes before filling with kitty litter-- THANK YOU!!! it's something i would never have thought of doing,
and it makes scooping so much easier!

gristle had 2 owners, and a pretty good life for 33 years, and about 6 hours of acute misery. but there was no question as to whether it was the right time-- i am grateful for that.
and i'm grateful for a competent vet.

she coliced yesterday afternoon, euthanised that evening. she was 33 yrs old; been w/me for 19 years.

kande, i think this is an important insight-- i've found getting off and going first to be quite helpful --not always :lol: but often.
ithink it depends on how the horse perceives the rider-- trusted leader, just-another-rider, someone-who-hurts-me, etc

i dunno-- i think being ridden or driven is hard on them-- that's why they have to TRAINED to accept all the stuff we 'ask' of them... on the othe hand, my 2 retired guys seem to miss having a job. so i guess It Depends :mrgreen: saddleseat horses are trained somewhat similarly-- rolled up in front,...

in the past, it was assumed that if video was posted in the training forum, comments/criticism was wanted. if not, the video got posted in the observation lounge. imo, the trainer'video was a perfect example of 'how to create a leg-mover' --restrict the horse in front, then use leg/spur to energise ...

the shank on the curb bit is horizontal much of the time, which give the impression that the pony is being ridden on the curb, rather than the snaffle. maybe the tack needs some adjustment?
