From what I recently heard/saw IRAP has changed - it is now I injection. Last summer when my mare had it done it was 5 or 6 injections. A girl at the barn just had it done and it's only one and I certainly helped her horse that has ringbone.

Hopefully, the cost has also come down.

I'm not a vet - but using a hose to dislodge the blockage possibly could cause a problem with water getting into the lungs. My old guy started choking on his grain and his carrots. Wow - surprised to hear so many toothless aged horses are out there. I guess I'm blessed - My 31 year old still has excellent teeth! I just had him checked and the vet said he has the teeth of a 20 year old...I had him checked since he had trouble chewing carrots and his pelleted grain. Not sure why...

Since my old guy is on Triple Crown Light, it's a pelleted feed so he would leave the Prascend. I put it in a small piece of apple and he eats His dosage of 1 1/2 pills and also an Equioxx pill.

Happy to report that I did start giving my 31 year old the Equithrive and within a very short time, I noticed he gets up easier ! Since he's so picky - I got the molasses flavored one and he gobbles it right up.

Paulao. Im new to this mare stuff too! My mare gets brain dead and you just can't get her back mentally.
Luckily, she doesn't show any other signs of being in season. Tho, I do thok this year when her fiaet in season started she was quite colicky.
