Re: Best winter riding glove
I bought gloves years ago that were lined with thinsulate. They were warm. I just don't recall who made them......

Re: Introducing counter canter
This is tricky for us too as I believe someone previous rushed my guy's training to put changes on him. Our small ring 20x40 also is limiting and he seems to anticipate what to do. I totally agree about trying it outside of the ring - - - my largest paddock has trees so great for suppling and bendin...

Re: Old dog GI issues
Thanks RTR - I just looked up lots of good stuff about pumpkin for dogs. I will definitely give it a try. He is alert and mobile for his age - still beats me going up the stairs. I know this needs to get resolved as it has gotten worse this past 2 weeks.

Old dog GI issues
I figure this is a problem fairly common in elderly dogs. We have a rescue pom mix appox age 15-16 years old. He has had his fair share of health problems in the past - bladder surgery twice to remove stones and put on special diet for years until he refused to eat it. He has been having diarrhea on...

Re: Tell us about YOU.
Amado - your art is STUNNING!! Love the horse pastel of Trapper!! I'm a senior rider age 59, started riding as a kid with small ponies in the 4-H. I've always owned a horse or pony for pleasure riding and keep them for life. Like Paulo I've owned until I've had to PTS. :( We live on a small farmette...

Thank you! I agree and much prefer a bulletin board - much easier to follow topics - posts. Now I can still enjoy my coffee in the morning.

Re: Senior gals with senior horses
What you all are describing is the exactly the situation I was in when I had to retire my heart horse. I had owned Cloudy since age 4 and lost him at age 24. He was a super kind TB never been raced and rarely got hot and when he did he was so mild mannered about it. He always made sure I stayed on. ...

Senior gals with senior horses
As musicalcomedy requested - Would it be a good idea to have a new thread just for us 'senior' gals (over 60) with 'senior' horses? :) I just turned age 59 and ride a large pony - Connemara gelding who I purchased at age 10. I had previously retired and then lost my heart horse. I hadn't planned to ...
