I sympathize. Southern Idaho is off all the national haulers' regular routes so they just don't come there. I have coin laundry close by. I always get the gross stuff off with a pressure wand and then usually do 2 cycles. They have never ejected me because of my blankets. My washer is big enough for the lightweight blanket and rain sheets but I take the others to the coin laundry.

I use the Camp Dry. I buy 6-7 cans at a time. It takes about 1 1/2 cans to do my girls' 72-74 blankets. 2 for sure for the larger sizes. I have never had it fail.

I don't ice either. Do a good gradual warm-up and appropriate cool down then turn her loose...as in she is out and has movement available 24/7. I think this really helps to avoid many, many orthopedic issues. I hose her legs and massage them with the water stream on a really hot day when I hose her ...

My threshold is rising all the time. I rode at 15F this year and wondered was in the he** I was doing (there was a decent wind chill).
20F and sunny with no wind is OK. I have no feel in the saddle with multiple layers of clothes and a bulky jacket on. I'm 60...not fun anymore.

At 6 months old, I wouldn't worry about specific "kitten" food. All good cat food should be enough protein for a kitten. I also feed a commercial raw (RadCat) mixed with canned. I have finally found some foods that both cats are eating consistently. They love the raw but will leave the can...

Definitely pursue other opinions. You are probably going to need to find someone that does hip arthroscopic procedures and I don't think they are particularly common.
