Re: Sports Bras...

I currently pretty much live in a lorna jayne 'the one' sports bra. Zips up the front. Not great for riding if you have big boobs but smaller ones it's ok. I do long shift work and sometimes get to sleep so need something comfy. It does have the racerback clip so when I'm up and about I do it up, if...

Re: Getting Dressage-y in 2023: January-February Goals and Progress

Thanks for sharing your vids Tanga. It's a big achievement getting to that level. I wonder too about the submission thing, I don't hold my horses in either so any wobble does get noticed more. There is definitely a market for lessons on higher level horses. I can put anyone on Ding and select riders...

Re: Getting Dressage-y in 2023: January-February Goals and Progress

I use a Portuguese curb on Ding, which is really just a pelham. Can't use it in straight dressage but I do find him better in it than a double. I feel that 2 bits is too much in his mouth and he gets quite stiff on them. With the one bit that still acts as a curb, I can get better releases. Had a 3 ...

I have Mary Wanless videos (on VHS!) and yes it helped a fair bit of my riding, however I did overdo a few things that I later had to undo. So, if you're doing it without and instructor video yourself and double check what you're feeling and seeing match up.

I've used PIVO for remote lessons and it's worked well. Just need longer ranged bluetooth earbuds/headphones, although some people just stay a bit closer to their pivo if they have standard ones. I haven't used Pixio/Pixem. I'd say Pixem might be easier than pixio because you use a phone. I Pixio us...

I used to do low level eventing, but I ended up winning/placing too much because we could do a good dressage test. After a little while people expect you to move up the levels. I tried riding HC, but the eventing world here was like WTF are you talking about!

Very interesting post Tanga. I've certainly felt the same way about dressage and while I have a goal to get to GP, I think it will be just at home in my own arena. I've pencilled (scribed) a lot also and realised just how subjective it is, plus a judge has to very quickly make a decision on a score ...

Rightly or wrongly, a few years ago I stopped riding in gloves and decided if my hands got sore or red, well I'm using far too much pressure. It's all about business now. Incorrect movement is rewarded with good marks.
