Re: Seniors...will you buy another when....
I have thought about this quite a bit as I'm 67. My horse is 9, so if she makes it to 25, that puts me at 83. I think if something should happen to her soundness wise, we keep them at home, so she could be retired here. I would probably look for an older horse or foster one, or maybe even get one fr...

Re: Jingles for my QH mare-Update: she's gone
To have a dear horse like yours go peacefully is a blessing. To have your mother there for her was even nicer for your mare. I'm very sorry for your loss, it's the saddest part of having horses.

Re: Reconvening the Court of Grammatical Peeves
Their, there, and they're seem to be something that has not been taught in elementary school anymore. Should there have been a comma after they're??

I'd rather not have the dog in the house nevermind the bed, scrooge that I am. However, all of the cats are welcome.

Re: Last weekend
My sister and I were in the car one day in NH and saw a loose horse trotting up the middle of the road one afternoon. I had a halter and lead rope in the car so we got out to catch the horse. Got closer and opps, the halter was not going to fit. It was a cow moose (female). We felt so silly!! Sue B ...

Re: Shrinking Clothes
I was told recently at a Talbots that cotton will shrink up in length, but not in width. Whether this is true or not, I haven't a clue. I would think it would depend on which way the material was cut on the bias. ( It's been years since I have sewn, so hopefully "bias" was the right word.)

Re: Cross Tying
When possible, especially with a young or flighty horse, I try to crosstie them where they will back into a wall rather than an open aisle. It seems to give them a better idea of the space available.
