At present, no one else at our barn trail rides except a couple who only ride on early mornings on the weekends, and always trailer out and ride FAST. Not the types to babysit another horse. The percentage of Omak horses that died was quite high back when we were discussing it years ago. My memory isn't reliable, but it may have been as high as 20%?
