Re: Stall mat experiences...good and bad please?

I love my stall savers. Had them for about 5+ years and they are holding up perfectly. But, I have 4 stalls in the barn which hardly get used except in extreme weather conditions and I happen to be home. I have a mat at the entrance inside the barn for them to stand on while grooming, trimming, etc....

Re: Does/did your horse have a special buddy?

I've had my horse since he was born 15 yrs. ago. He had a buddy that bullied him a bit so was always on the bottom. Then I boarded for a few years but that ended with just too much drama and he was alone. I then got him a goat. Goat was old and eventually had to be euthanized. This time, I rescued a...

Re: Tank de-icers - stray voltage

PVC plastic pipe large enough to get the plug through is super easy to cut to length and it will keep it off the ground for you. I drilled two small holes on the end of a pvc pipe to hang off the hydrant and shoot the water into the water tank with. Good luck and hope this new heater solves your pro...

Re: Any good beginner book re: Essential Oils?

I had a doTerra diffuser but only lasted a few months and cost was just over $100. Here's the replacement which does have a lot of light options but one option is no light (no recommendation as I have not received it yet): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EI96HJW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=...

Re: Any good beginner book re: Essential Oils?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm looking for my own health and using on cat, dog, horse, donkey. I purchased a DoTerra diffuser last year and loved it until it quit working. Have another diffuser on order.

I would like to know what each individual oil is used for mainly as well as recipes.

Any good beginner book re: Essential Oils?

I bought Essential Oils for Beginners by Althea Press but am disappointed as it does not list Oregano and is out of date re: diffusers.

Any recommendations that you LOVE to help a beginner?

Re: Question about stalls...insight from barn owners please?

Tarlo Farm, crushed concrete under the oak? do you have experience with the crushed concrete to know it drains well? I had some placed in front of the gate, thinking it would drain and their hooves would not soak in muck during the rainy weather/spring thaw etc. It does not drain like I expected. Ac...

Re: Dogs on the bed, yes it no?

I just gave up on keeping the grit out of the bed and started wearing pj's so that I can't feel it. I find this so funny and can so relate! I have lived here for 25+ years and I religiously have to brush the sand outa the bed EACH and EVERY night before getting in. Recently, I started doing the Ben...

Ah, thanks Stella, nice to have a personal take on the debate. I can't watch it on u-tube as I'm sooo busy getting things done for winter and having bunion surgery on Wed. Only me here and I so wanted to hear how they came across.

Re: Why the Hillary hate?

I don't hate H. but have little respect. I can only recall a time when she blatantly lied to gain office during her last attempt to become President but she has lied several times, I just can't specifically recall them. She stated she was under gunfire at a plane landing in a foreign country when vi...

Re: Are you going to vote for Hillary? Why or why not?

I'm for Bernie but feel exactly the same as M&M.

Bernie has been an economic advisor to 2 maybe 3 presidential administrations, then ran for Senate and won. Vermont really likes him and I feel he has the wherewithal to deal with Foreign policy and the rest of the politics as usual.

I never got even a headache during menopause. Lots of other utterly horrible symptoms tho. Try this website, http://www.earthclinic.com/

it's a wealth of information respective to natural remedies. Individuals post what works for them. The owner also posts.

What are the new boards after UDBB shut down?

I'm curious. I was not around when the UDBB shut down. I've gotten a sense that UDBB gave everyone a heads up but I missed it. Feel lucky to have found this board. I've had a need to refer to an old post in UDBB for my sister's health and could not - so bummed. What is the other board? I've heard th...

Re: Simple pleasures. The grilled cheese sandwich...

I was glutton free for over a year and felt so great, young and full of energy. I missed my grilled cheese and tomato soup. I started back on bread this past summer and went right for the grilled cheese - OMG! what a treat. The type of cheese is important as is the bread. These all sound so yummy I ...

Re: Family get togethers, 2 hours late? A whine...

Two hours late at X-mas, no phone call, no excuse or apology. Ruined my appitizer and upon arrival to host house, my sister gave a very lame excuse. Tired of her ALWAYS being late and disregarding my time and my feelings. she made a comment the other day about going to a movie and dinner. I just loo...
