I use a portion of their daily feed allowance. I have hemp pellets (similar to flaxseed) which are treat-size. Or plain whole oats, though they are a bit small and generally a bit more of a pain.

I've been eating a lot (a lot) of zucchini, as that's coming out of the garden prolifically (a lot). Also tomatoes, although not so prolific, but delicious. Lots of ratatouille, "zoodles" with meat (and maybe pasta and most likely tomatoes).

We don't get snow where my horses live; about 30 miles south regularly has snow on the mountain, and approximately 100-130 miles south has mountains with skifields. We do get frosts, we are below 0 degrees C (freezing) perhaps 20 days...
