Re: Ring in 2021 in the dressage ring: January-February Goals and Progress

SF, Miss A looks fabulous. I know...the weather has been fantastic this week since the wind quieted down. I have ridden 4 visits in a row :D . However, I am lamenting the (hopefully temporary) loss of my nice quiet barn. It makes riding a bit challenging. The east end of our outdoor arena is about 1...

Well..I got to ride again! 2x this week so far. And, I am delighted to say it was 180 degrees from our ride on Sunday. Thank you for no wind. It makes life so much nicer. I didn't have much time but had a lovely ride. The outdoor was just worked 2 days ago with very little traffic and the top was dr...

Well...what I consider an "off breed" FOR ME is a WB. Some lovely horses but mostly BIG. I am not a fan of big horses. Physically, they intimidate me just with the mass and height. I have owned one WB (Oldenburg) that was not big. She topped out at a massive 15.2...but, she was the most ch...

I would not use your 401k. I would save that for later in your retirement. You don't HAVE to take any money out until you are 72 (required minimum distribution). I would leave it there to grow. I like Duque. Seems like a kind soul but for the training I see and the fact that he is most likely not a purebred...$30K seems way high. Kyra is an Iberian WB. It is the designation IAHLA gives to Andalusian/PRE crossbreds. Probably means he either doesn't have PRE papers or he is a crossbred? Susan

Good discussion. I recently tried baby trot with Kyra after I tweaked my back. I was tired of walking and bigger trot and canter aggravated my back. She actually can do it pretty well NOW.
