Loving the show reports! Blob, yes that comment could have been worded better that's for sure. Nice scores and big difference from the spooky test to the outdoor test on the first day. T level is training level? Which I think is equivalent to our novice. Asking/looking for suspension at novice I fee...

I got stuck at that point too. I tried tapping in different spots but what really worked was a food treat. Norsey does that too, especially with his near hind. Once I took a pic of him bucking in the paddock and it looked like his hoof was on backwards! My coach who does a lot of rehab work and is very invested in biomechanics has encouraged me to ride him straight, not a lot of big lateral work, and not...

Agree with trying a K&M or Thorowgood too.
They do change shape on you as they get older.

My big horse never tracks up, sometimes their shape makes it hard for them to do so. I've listened to some good discussions on tracking up and sometimes I think it's not the be all and end all. I personally wouldn't worry, give him 12 months of work and see what happens then. Starting lateral work t...

What frustrates me about the horse riding industry, is that people can create such bullshit and say they learned from classical masters, or in europe or whatever and until you've been around and learned enough yourself, you can get taken for such a ride. I was going to say where you leg fits around/on the barrel of the horse can change how you sit. My legs wobble around a lot more on my smaller horse but are more still on my big horse.
I sit more chair seated on the big horse (can be due to saddle) but also because his shoulder is so big.

I had to do similar with Norsey. People had told me for ages "oh he'll stop curling when he is stronger" and he never did.
I agree that they have to work properly to give you a back to sit to, but I'm going to say a different saddle made quite a difference for me.
