Re: Unbelievably, my bad luck continues ... now Jet.

That is rotten luck, DJR, and certainly not the news you want to hear. But, I have also had a good experience healing a front suspensory. Walker did a pretty bad job on his, oh, ten years ago now. We did stall rest and shockwave and the full handwalking and slow rehab deal. It took time, but he hasn...

I was thinking Sabre, but I like both of Piedmont's suggestions, Chisamba. It's always so rewarding when they go "Oh, so that's what I'm supposed to do!" Cold and blowy with snow in the air here. A lot of rain yesterday and last night, Just a warning from Mother Nature that we need to get ...

Re: Canter - Suppling or Strenthening or ???

While I think it depends on the horse greatly, It makes a huge difference to Laddie to have a loosening canter in the warm up phase of our ride, he doesn't tend to get overexcited by it unless it's one of those days, it just gets him looser in his back, more focused and more able to step under himse...

My vet came out this morning and gave Laddie the all clear :) We think he must have either whacked himself on the fence or been stung by something, but the swelling and heat had all resolved and the suspensory, which was my biggest worry, was non-reactive--and he was sound on the longe, once he'd fi...

Sigh. I bought Laddie in yesterday, after a couple of days of relentless actual paying job hell where I barely saw the outdoors let alone got the chance to ride, and he has a hot, sore fat RF. Called the vet, cold hosed, wrapped and stuck him on stall rest until the vet can come out on Tuesday. I've...

I'm with Chisamba on shoes. Some need them, some do not. Laddie needs them. Makes a big difference to how he moves. It's been a lovely weekend here--sunny and pleasantly warm. Good rides both days on Laddie, chipping away at strengthening that right hind. I've also been riding Walker--I found a sadd...

Looking good, Mari! Nice change :) I think Flight has a good idea. Several years ago, one of our local shows scored two exceptional judges for some reason--I think it was Hilda Gurney and Janet Foy if I remember rightly. #2 is just lovely, but I have serious cultural issues with black for a wedding, so I really would wish they had it in another color.

I just love the color of #3, but it might be a bit overpowering for the occasion combined with that plunge neckline--you don't want to overshadow the bride!
