Is dove tail the same thing as tongue in groove? I'd love pictures Koolkat, thanks! Canyon, will you post a picture of the hardware that lets the divider swing? Re: Does Anyone Have Movable Stall Walls?

So over the last couple of days I have been thinking hard on the advice of "live with it for awhile" and "don't tear down any building you don't absolutely have to" thatbI got from you folks, as well as our realtor. It is amazing to me how ideas can morph and improve with time, n...

Re: Does Anyone Have Movable Stall Walls?

Boots...flooring will not be an issue at all. Raised wood floor for tack room (fully enclosed and insulated room) with concrete slab for wash out area in front. That part is easy and we can build ourselves (with our plumber and electrician, and a concrete guy for slab). Picture walking into a long s...

Does Anyone Have Movable Stall Walls?

Another reno question…. Good friend/our horse vet came over for dinner and a farm tour this week…she had a GREAT idea about The Little Red Barn to get the tack/feed room and wash bay in the same barn as stalls will be (as opposed to being in the nearby Little Gray Barn). Only consideration…it would ...

Re: Barn Reno Progress...with pix!

Thanks Canyon. The whole property, including TLRB a and TLGB is really me...I'm not a big house or million dollar barn girl...I like cozy and homey...which is good since that is in my price range LOL I really do plan to post before and after pix of the house. And since the house is relatively clean ...

Re: Barn Reno Progress...with pix!

Suzon, part of me wishes I was still trying to decide where to put a barn. The downside to these buildings is where the original owner placed them...down hill. So, we are spending a lot of time and effort making sure all this work is for barns that will stay dry! Thanks KathyK...the hard part now is...

The Little Red Barn Reno Progress...new pix 8-6-16

I had the roof and posts replaced on "the little red barn" in July in the midst of the major remodel of the house on the new farm. We were finally able to move into the house in October, and we sold our original house amazingly fast...multiple offers in 12 hours and a closing in just three...

Stall mat experiences...good and bad please? NEW QUESTION 1-28-16

Re: One year already--i can't do this

So many hugs for you. As others had said, you don't have to "do this"…right after it happened, now, 2 years from now, whenever. Others who have not been through it may not get that, but they should at least get you. And if they don't, that's on them, not on you…which to me is the hardest p...

And now...what about paint vs stain for the barn exterior?

Been googling for two hours now. The longer I read, the more the camps are becoming equally divided. Though I'd love to hear the most recent experiences people have had. In concept, the stain that is a color like red or green sounds great...but I wonder if they turn out to be as good as they sound? ...
