Re: Getting the work done in a small barn? Please help!

I own 3, one elderly mare that may crash and burn at any time or she may go on for years. 10 boarders in either stall or paddocks with sheds. Everyone is out during the day. My board is a bit less than the going rate since I lack a few amenities (wash rack) but I have lots of real grass pasture whic...

Interesting conversation with my conservative friend and neighbor last night. Part of her decision to vote for trump was our shared frustration with the 2 party sys...

Re: Must ceiling be a different color?

You want the ceiling to rise above your head and in a small room, whether small by square footage or ceiling height, I think it's especially critical for the ceiling to "rise". Paint it white. True to point but as I referred to above, the sharp contrast between the ceiling and the walls c...

Re: Must ceiling be a different color?

You can do the ceiling the same or a few shades lighter than the wall color. If it is the same color it will look darker than the walls since no light falls on the ceiling. If the crown moulding stays and you want the ceiling to appear higher then paint the moulding the same color as the ceiling. Th...

Labor costs vary so much by location that it is hard to say but for that size house, depending on actual roof pitch and complexity you are probably looking at 12k to 18k or even more if there are a lot of valleys or specialty items.
